FEA-Opt Technology Co. Ltd. announced that SmartDO 12.0 will be released immediately, adding the following features.

Full Restart for RCFDM (Gradient-Based Optimizer)

Now the use can re-use the SmartDO_DIH.CSV file for full restart and SmartLearning. With this option, all the calculation result will be reused as the databased of SmartLearning. Hence the same design won’t be re-evaluated, and the iteration will be accelerated. This option is located at :
Main Menu > Parameters > Optimizer Controls

SmartLink for SOLIDWORKS/ANSYS

Add Parameters Links Between SOLIDWORKS and ANSYS Workbench. ANSYS does not support direct parameters link with SOLIDWORKS anymore since SOLIDWORKS 2020. This is an alternative option for the users to link between SOLIDWORKS CAD and ANSYS. This option is located at :
Main Menu > SmartLink > ANSYS Workbench > Advanced Options

Allow defining Minimize/Maximize the objective value in SmartLink for ANSYS Workbench

Before SmartDO 12.0, the default target for the objective function is to minimize it. SmartDO 12.0 adds new option to minimize/maximize the obejctive value.

Add Pre/Post Script File for SmartLink for ANSYS Workbench

With these two files, the user can add any actions before and after SmartDO calling ANSYS Workbench. This is located at
Main Menu > SmartLink > ANSYS Workbench > Advanced Options

SmartLink for NX Simcenter3D

SmartDO 12.0 adds the following new features inSmartLink for NX Simcenter3D中:

• Add Pre/Post script files in SmartLink for NX Simcneter3D. With these two files, you can add any actions before and after SmartDO calling Simcenter3D. This is located at :
  Main Menu > SmartLink > Simcenter3D (NX) > Advanced Options
• Importing existing SmartLink for Simcenter3D (NX) is available (for that SmartDO will change all the path to the currently directly automatically). This is located at :
  Main Menu > SmartLink > Simcente r3D (NX) > Import Existing SmartLink for Simcenter3D (NX)
• Add options for exporting STEP/X_T(Parasolid) files after updating NX model.
  Main Menu > SmartLink > Simcenter3D (NX) > Advanced Options

Universal Connection

Improvement and new features in Universal Connections include :

• Allow negative (-) line number for reading blank separated text file and CSV file. This allow SmartDO to search back to the line from the tag line.
• Add capabilities to read/write MS Excel files.
